VIVI PRIMITIVO SIGNIFICANTLY UNDERVALUED
VIVI PRIMITIVo is an Italian wine that I feel is being undervalued. As I was looking to purchase a wine in Little Italy there was a large selection to choose from. A fellow wine enthusiast saw a sign for a wine that was very cheap. It was valued at $11, however because of poor sales they undersold it for $8. At first I was not sure because when Italian wines are being sold cheap then one should question why? Was it very bad and no one wanted to purchase it or did it just not get enough attention?
As I looked around more I decided that it may be worth the risk to purchase. As it was opened I could smell the delicious flavors hitting me. While being poured into the glass the smells continued as it was oxidized. I do not particular like wine mixtures, however the wine makers did a wonderful job. The glass was heavy, there were a good amount of legs, and yet it was very fruity. It had small hints of berries and peaches. The barrels definitely contributed to the tastes as well.
My first words after finally tasting the wine was "this is significantly under priced". For $8 this wine was an absolute steal. It may be a mixture of different grapes, but those grapes are of good quality. If you see this wine for $8 I suggest you buy it immediately because it will not last forever. I believe the value in price should actually be anywhere between $12 to $15.
Use this wine for dinner parties, a small get together, and if you want with steaks, chicken, or pasta dishes. Even just cheese, meats, and crackers will go perfect with this wine. If you can buy a case of it I suggest you do so because it is definitely a wine to share with friends and family. You will enjoy this bottle of wine.
